For businesses running PetExec

“PetExec is now part of the Gingr family.”

That’s the banner on their own website, not our characterisation. Togetherwork acquired PetExec in November 2024, and it now sits alongside Gingr and Revelation Pets under one owner. Submit an enquiry through the PetExec site and it’s handled at info.gingrapp.com.

If you’d rather run your business on something independent, that’s us.

What’s actually on the record

Only things PetExec and Togetherwork have published themselves. No speculation, and nothing we can’t show you.

4 November 2024

Togetherwork acquires PetExec

PetExec joins Togetherwork’s Pet Care Product Group alongside Gingr and Revelation Pets. Togetherwork is backed by Aquiline Capital Partners.

From the announcement

The product continues

“The PetExec team will continue to operate and support PetExec customers, while enabling Togetherwork to offer additional compelling software and payments solutions to the entire Pet Care vertical.” PetExec is still supported — we’re not going to tell you otherwise.

One question worth asking your account manager

“What is the long-term plan for PetExec, and will it still be developed and supported in three years?”

Ask for the answer in writing. If it’s reassuring, brilliant — stay where you are, with better information than you had this morning. We’d rather you decided on facts than on a landing page.

Your three options, honestly

We’re only one of them, and we’ll say what’s good about the others.

Stay on PetExec

Genuinely reasonable. It’s still supported, you know the system, your staff are trained on it, and switching software is a real cost in time and attention.

The open question is what the product looks like in a few years inside a group that also owns its two biggest competitors. Worth asking, not worth panicking about.

Move to Gingr

A capable system with a lot of customers and a long track record, the migration path is well trodden, and your vendor will help you do it.

It’s also considerably more expensive — $109 to $209 a month on published pricing — tiered by service type, with SMS and staff scheduling as paid add-ons. But pay attention to their recent reviews on various review websites.

Move to KennelBooker

$49.99 a month with every service in every plan, a published payment rate you see before you switch it on.

It’s a new system to learn. We do the migration for you, free, so the cost of finding out is a fortnight of your attention.

The only bit we’ll push you on

Whichever you choose, choose it. The worst outcome is drifting for two years and then having the decision made for you on someone else’s timetable, in the middle of a busy season, because that’s when these things always land.

The bit that actually stops people

We’ll do the move for you. Free.

Nobody stays on software they’ve outgrown because they love it. They stay because of the thought of re-entering every customer, every pet, and every vaccination record by hand.

So don’t. Send us an export from PetExec and we’ll build it out — your customers and their pets, as well as their vaccinations, and booking history. You check it over while PetExec is still running. Nothing goes live until you say so.

Live and taking bookings within 3 days, or you don’t pay us.

Send a clean export and we’ll have you ready to take real bookings inside of 3 days. If we don’t, your first three months are free.

What you’d be moving to

Thousands of kennels, catteries and daycares across 40 countries run their whole business on this.

Every service, one plan

Boarding, cattery, board & train, daycare, grooming, walking, training, homestay and point of sale. Plans are sized by capacity, not by what you’re allowed to sell.

One rate

One published all-in rate for your country, shown before you switch payments on, and no penalty if you’d rather not use it.

Your own Stripe account

Money moves from your customer straight to you. We never hold it.

24/7 online booking

Your own branded portal with live availability and deposits taken at the point of booking.

Vaccination enforcement

Expired vaccinations stop the booking before it reaches your diary, not at the front door on a Saturday morning.

Your pricing, however odd

Peak dates, part days, multi-pet rates, breed and size bands, extra services. Show us the strangest thing you charge for.

SMS and staff scheduling included

Not sold as add-on modules. They’re in every plan.

Xero and QuickBooks

Invoices and payments sync straight through, so month-end stops being a data entry job.

Support from the people who built it

No tier one, no ticket that goes quiet for a week. The person who replies is the person who can fix it.

Questions people ask us

Is PetExec closing down?

No, and we’re not going to suggest otherwise to win your business. It’s still supported, and Togetherwork’s own announcement said the PetExec team would continue to operate and support customers. If you want certainty about the long-term roadmap, ask your account manager and ask for it in writing.

Who owns PetExec now?

Togetherwork, since November 2024. They’re backed by Aquiline Capital Partners and also own Gingr and Revelation Pets. Enquiries through the PetExec website are handled at info.gingrapp.com.

Can you import my PetExec data?

Yes, free. Send us an export of your customers, pets and bookings and we’ll set up your services, and records for you.

Will my customers have to start again?

No. Their records, their pets and their history come across. They set a password the first time they book on your new portal, prompted by an email you approve before it goes out.

You’re a smaller company. Isn’t that a risk too?

Fair question, and it deserves a straight answer. We’re independent and owner-run, with thousands businesses in over 40 countries paying us every month. Small means the person answering your email can fix the problem, usually the same day.

Have a look while there’s no pressure

Fourteen days, every feature, no card. We’ll bring your data across for nothing so you’re comparing the real thing, not a demo.
